Child Care Officer
Permanent, Salary LGPS Band 3 to Mid Point, Points 17-21, Actual Salary £17,472-£19,221 pa, Annual Salary £18,672-£20,541 pa (depending on experience)
Working term time plus inset/non-pupil days, working 40.75 hours per week based on a shift pattern, involving two day shifts - Monday to Friday (7.30am to 3.30pm) and three evening shifts - Monday to Thursday (2.30pm to 10.45pm). Regular sleeping in duties also apply to this post for which additional payment is made.
We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and committed Child Care Officer to join our dedicated residential team. This post involves working 40.75 hours per week based on a shift pattern, involving two day shifts - Monday to Friday (7.30am to 3.30pm) and three evening shifts - Monday to Thursday (2.30pm to 10.45pm), term time plus non-pupil days. The purpose of the post is to provide a 24 hour curriculum to meet individual and group needs. With a clear emphasis on stimulating through activity and learning, the role is varied and includes teaching life skills, the promotion of choice and independence, preparing for independent living, attending academy meetings and ensuring all care is delivered in line with Ofsted expectations, national minimum standards and academy policy and procedures. There is a strong emphasis on outdoor pursuits and learning outside the classroom including camping, bush craft and survival skills courses alongside a vast range of high octane pursuits such as kayaking, sailing and mountain biking.
Premises Maintenance Assistant
Permanent, Salary LGPS Band 3 to Mid Point, Points 17-21, Actual Salary £18,672-£20,541 pa (depending on experience)
Working 52.14 weeks pa, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday inclusive, with the flexibility of working occasional Saturdays, daily working hours are to meet operational needs and may involve shift working.
To contribute to the smooth running of the school by carrying out a range of duties as directed by the Premises Manager including security and supervision of the site and related equipment, there will be an emphasis on building and DIY maintenance tasks, porterage and other manual duties will be involved.
The duties of the post as outlined will be subject to the appropriate risk assessment, safe systems of work and appropriate equipment being available and the relevant competencies of the post holder.

Previous similar experience in the building trade is desirable but not essential as training will be given. You should be able to demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills and be able to relate well to children and interact with them in a friendly and positive manner. A cheerful, flexible approach, the ability to prioritise, with a can-do attitude and good DIY skills are essential.
