Governor Vacancy - Could you Make a Difference?
Ramsden Hall Academy is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Governor to join our friendly and supportive Academy Council.
Our Governors come from a range of backgrounds and bring different skills, knowledge and experience to the role. Working closely with the Academy’s leadership team, they play an important part in supporting the strategic direction of the Academy, monitoring its performance and providing both support and constructive challenge.
About the role
- This is a voluntary position.
- The time commitment is circa. 20 hours over the academic year. This includes preparing for and attending meetings, as well as visiting the Academy during the school day.
- The Academy Council typically meets four times a year. Meetings are often held remotely, usually at the end of the school day or in the early evening, and generally last around two hours.
- Governors provide strategic oversight, monitor the Academy’s performance and provide appropriate challenge and support to Academy leaders.
- Training, induction and ongoing support are provided to all Governors.
- Previous school governance experience is not essential. We welcome interest from people with a range of professional and personal backgrounds who are keen to use their skills and experience to make a positive contribution to our Academy.
